The doors have opened to the new two-storey Main Entrance and Admin Hub at Princess Royal Hospital. The ground floor fit-out by Noviniti on behalf of The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and One Retail, comprises office and toilet accommodation as well as retail offerings - a Costa Coffee and an Amazon Just Walk Out technology store, designed to enhance the staff, patient, and visitor experience at the Hospital.
The Amazon Just Walk Out technology store is the first ever in a hospital premises. Customers enter the technology enabled store by using their credit card, debit card or mobile wallet at the entry gate. The technology detects what the shopper takes from or returns to shelves and creates a virtual shopping session. When the guest completes their shopping, they leave the store without waiting in line. The outlet provides an expanded range of hot and cold food to go, such as sandwiches and salads, as well as sundries such as chilled meals and groceries, toiletries, plus hot beverages.
The Principal Contractor for both the shell and fit-out works was Morris Property Limited. The fit-out works took just 12 weeks to complete.
